AG Ambassadors

Your 2025-2026 Ag Ambassadors are Emma Cameron, Senior at West Franklin High School, and Shane Circle, Senior at Ottawa High School.

In 2019 the Board of Directors adopted an Ag Ambassador program.  As high school students who want to develop themselves and strengthen their knowledge of all areas in agriculture and policy, the Ag Ambassador program is an exceptional opportunity that connects seniors in high school with Farm Bureau to grow their knowledge of agriculture, assist their county board with events, and create a line of communication with future employers and experts in the industry. Ag Ambassadors participate in Farm Bureau events within our county, as well as attending events in Manhattan and Topeka with Kansas Farm Bureau. Upon completion of their program year, Ambassadors receive a $1000 scholarship to their school of choice.

Day on the Farm

Day on the Farm is held annually at Sylvester Ranch in the fall.  This is a cooperative program with the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce and Franklin County Farm Bureau.  The 2025 Day on the Farm event was a huge success with nearly 500 students, teachers and volunteers involved.

Bread in a Bag

Bread in a Bag is a program highlighting wheat provided to third graders in their classrooms.  Each student takes home a loaf of homemade whole wheat bread and the recipe.  In 2025, Farm Bureau volunteers presented the program to over 300 third grade students in every elementary school in Franklin County.
